Discover more from Eve
We have the first nominated location for Eve, which will be used as the public launch site.
The nomination came about after a conversation with Skip Newberry, CEO of the Technology Association of Oregon (TAO), and the “Smart Cities and Communities” group he co-hosts.
With Skip’s warm introduction we also connected with Jonathan Malsin of Beam Development. Beam is the prolific real estate developer behind many iconic buildings including Eastside Exchange, which houses TAO, and the apartment building directly across the street, Slate, which I used to live in.
Ideal location
The location is ideal for Eve’s car share platform because of the scarcity of parking options in the area. Most of the buildings have extremely limited parking, many surrounding streets lack parking because they are dedicated to transit or pedestrians, and increased apartment construction in the area makes the parking situation worse.
Remaining steps to launch Eve
Share site details with potential charging partners.
Inspect parking site with charging partners to estimate the costs.
Review proposals and select a charging partner.
Confirm and validate vehicle to pair with charger.
Install charger.
Apply branding to identify the parking and charging.
Launch!
ASK!
We are looking to connect with potential charging partners. We are already meeting with OpConnect, but we are looking to connect with others as well. I have a shortlist of companies I’ve identified and linked to their LinkedIn pages. Please connect me with any individual or companies (even if not listed) that might be a good fit.
